The frontal lobe acts as a critical filter that determines what is essential amidst the intense bombardment of information from the visual world. While the posterior regions of the brain analyze the overall visual scene, the frontal lobe selects the specific object of interest required at that moment—such as a pen on a desk—and focuses attention upon it. Furthermore, this region governs complex executive processes, including selective attention, divided attention, and multitasking.
